Avengers Campus Opening Delayed at Disney California Adventure

Avengers Campus Delayed: Park Opening is Now "Coming Soon" – /Film

As expected Disney has changed the Avengers Campus opening date from July 18th to “Coming Soon” on its website. With the extended park closures it was becoming quite obvious that Disney would have to do push back the opening date as everything in the land still has a considerable amount of construction left.

The Spiderman ride is farther along than the rest of the project though, so Disney may try and do a phased opening by just opening Spiderman and the gift shop and then the rest of the land at a later date. Assuming the parks open in June, I can see Spiderman opening up by July or August and the rest of the land opening up by September or October.

Are you excited for this land? Will you be visiting when it opens or will you wait until there is a vaccine for the virus to go visit the parks?

Legoland Ride Will Shrink You Down to Factory Size!

Last Tuesday the Legoland New York Resort revealed a brand new type of ride and new ride tech. It will be called The Lego Factory Adventure and this first of its kind ride will be unique to Legoland New York.

Guests will be able to board the ride vehicle and with special technology be able to “shrink” down to the size of a Lego figure. What is really awesome is that facial technology and motion tracking will be used to turn guests into their own minifigures. Each guests minifigure will be shown on a on ride screen in the vehicle.

Ride Vehicle

Here is a look at the trackless ride vehicle that will be used in the attraction. Legoland New York will be opening July 4, 2020. What do you think of this new ride tech to be used in the park? Comment your thoughts down below!

Along with Snow White, another Disney classic is set to undergo a major refurb in 2020 and that would be Indiana Jones. Disney has filed a permit to replace the bridge and other props during a major refurb next year for the attraction. They will also refurb the rock work.

Cedar Point Has Set Their 2020 Announcement Date for December 19th

Right after Knott’s Berry Farm announced their new 2020 attraction, Cedar Point teased a new 2020 addition of their own. Cedar Point has said that on December 19th they will announce this mystery new attraction.

I have some thoughts on what this attraction may be based on what we can observe at the park right now. I can tell you this will not be a roller coaster as there have been no permits filed with the city and construction has not begun anywhere in the park for this new addition.

It could be a partnership with Triotech in bringing a new or refurbished/rethemed dark ride to the park, which I think would be a great addition to this park full of coasters. Cedar Point could also be partnering with Triotech to add animatronics to their river rapids ride as well. What do you think it will be? What do you want Cedar Point to get next? Snow White’s Scary Adventures at Disneyland to Undergo Large Refurb in 2020

Disney today filed a permit with the city of Anaheim totaling $445,000 that calls for the refurb of Snow White’s Scary Adventures. The official wording of the permit is below.

“Disneyland – Snow Whites Scary Adventures – Tenanat Improvement: 6,212 sq ft to remove and replace show prop sets and scenes, install new structural beams, rockwork and new projector platforms. With electrical.”

My guess is that this refurb will start on January 7th which is the day after the Holidays end at the Disneyland Resort. Here’s hoping that other dark rides such as Mister Toad’s gets a face-lift as well. What do you think of this refurb? Are you excited for the changes? Let me know in the comments below!

Cedar Fair parks and particular Knott’s Berry Farm are having a record year attendance wise. Due to good weather days and loads of entertainment such as Knott’s Summer Nights and Ghost Town Alive and the debut of Calico River Rapids people have been flocking to Knott’s while Disney debuted Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and saw a 3% decline in attendance.

The record attendance is expected to continue as today Knott’s announced a new attraction, Knott’s Bear-y Tales, that will be coming in 2020. That new attraction plus Summer Nights, Ghost Town Alive, and all of the planned entertainment for the 100th Anniversary, Knott’s will be smashing attendance records for years to come it seems.

What do you think of the record attendance? Did you visit Knott’s this year? Are you planning to visit for the 100th Anniversary entertainment and attractions? Let me know in the comments below!

Cedar Point is Teasing a New 2020 Addition

Following on the footsteps of Knott’s new 2020 teaser announcement, Cedar Point is now teasing their own new addition for their 150th Anniversary next year. No major construction is happening at the moment so it is safe to say it will not be a major new addition such as a record breaking roller coaster.

Just because it will not be a major roller coaster does not mean that this new addition won’t be exciting. Cedar Fair is partnering with Triotech for Knott’s so maybe a new or revamped dark ride will be coming to Cedar Point as well. Also there could be a new family coaster coming because those do not take as long to build as the major coasters.

The announcement did mention a river though and that is very interesting as Cedar Point could be revamping their river rafting ride like Knott’s did last year. Not much else is known about this teaser, but expect to find out much more on both new Cedar Fair attractions in a couple weeks at IAAPA.
