Orange County Moving to FULL Phase 2 Allows Downtown Disney To Legally Be Able To Reopen

DOWNTOWN DISNEY® District - Park Place Inn Mini Suites

Today Orange County received approval to move forward with the full phase 2 reopening plan from Gavin Newsom. This plan includes open air shopping malls such as Downtown Disney.

Disney has made no announcement regarding the opening of the Disneyland Resort, but things are definitely heading in a positive direction. When Downtown Disney does reopen expect the same procedures that are being done in Orlando such as the temperature screenings and face masks.

Will you be heading out to Downtown Disney on opening day?

BREAKING: Disneyland Park, Disney World and Universal Studios Hollywood Temporarily Closing

This morning California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that he is banning large gatherings of over 250 people in the state, but theme parks, casinos, and movie theaters were exempt. A few hours later, Disney announced that the Disneyland Resort would be closing due to coronavirus concerns for just the fourth time in its history.

A couple of hours later, Universal Studios Hollywood followed suit and announced that it too would be closing its doors from March 14th through the end of the month. This is particular bad for Universal fans as pass member previews were just getting ready to start this Saturday for the new Secret Life of Pets: Off The Leash attraction.

UPDATE: Disney World has now closed effective Sunday March 15th temporarily.

I will update this story as more details become available, but make sure to ALWAYS wash your hands and stay safe and clean!

Paint The Night Coming Back Soon?? Let’s Hope So!

Today I was out and about and I started to really miss Paint The Night, so I went on Youtube and watched the parade all over again. When I got back home and checked the WDW Magic Forums, I saw that the old Paint The Night thread popped back up, meaning someone posted in it and they posted this screenshot.

After seeing this I instantly got excited and decided to do more research. I did not find anything else besides that and then I got a little sad potentially knowing that maybe that is always on the Disney site. No other mention of Paint The Night appears in any section of the site, but here’s hoping the return of dining packages on the website could signal a very near return for the parade.

What do you think of Paint The Night? Do you want it to come back? Do you care? What is your favorite float on the parade?

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Officially Begins Construction at Disneyland

Hello there and welcome back to yet another construction update. Earlier today I talked about the Velicicoaster and right now I have an Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway (MMRR) construction update to share.

Visitors to Toontown this week probably have noticed some very visible changes to the backdrop of Toontown as now Toontown mountain range has been completely demolished.

As you can see from this picture both entertainment buildings D13 and D14 were demolished within 48 hours starting Monday and ending today. The Toontown hills are attached to those buildings that are still intact in this picture but as of now those structures and the hills are gone as well.
