The Oriental Land Company has announced that Tokyo Disneyland Resort will close until March 15th, due to the corona-virus situation. This is in part due to Japan’s government ordering all major tourist and government destinations to close until March 15th so they could get a handle on the virus. More updates to the story will come when they are announced.
This afternoon guests aboard the Jungle Cruise at the Magic Kingdom were in for a bit of a surprise as their boat started to sink while touring the jungle.

All of the guests were okay and the water pathways are very shallow so hopefully nobody got too drenched. Disney has not stated the cause of the sinking, but the attraction is running normally again.
Sea World San Diego announced via an Instagram post that Emperor will officially be opening in Spring 2020. Emperor will be the tallest Dive Coaster on the West Coast and will feature several inversions. The track work is complete and work on the chain for the lift hill and station is proceeding at the moment with testing expected to begin in the next couple of weeks. Today I was out and about and I started to really miss Paint The Night, so I went on Youtube and watched the parade all over again. When I got back home and checked the WDW Magic Forums, I saw that the old Paint The Night thread popped back up, meaning someone posted in it and they posted this screenshot.

After seeing this I instantly got excited and decided to do more research. I did not find anything else besides that and then I got a little sad potentially knowing that maybe that is always on the Disney site. No other mention of Paint The Night appears in any section of the site, but here’s hoping the return of dining packages on the website could signal a very near return for the parade.
What do you think of Paint The Night? Do you want it to come back? Do you care? What is your favorite float on the parade?
In order to justify increasing the price of Maxpass to $20 this morning, Disney is frantically trying to add as many attractions of all types to the Fastpass lineup to be able to get more families to purchase the service.
Are you excited that Smuggler’s Run will be having Fastpass? This ride was specifically built with a Fastpass line so I do not mind this attraction being on the service, but let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
It is that time of year again, Disney has released ticket price increases overnight for Disneyland and soon Walt Disney World. Due to soft attendance last year, the increases were small to modest, but still increases nonetheless. The biggest change came to the pricing structure. Disneyland got rid of the (Value, Regular, Peak) tickets and introduced a five tier system.
Photos and videos on social media have shown a plume of smoke coming from behind Adventureland at Disneyland Park. Reports have been saying that some Vegetation has caught fire.
The park isn’t closed but some areas of Adventureland are shut down. Stay tuned and follow this blog for more updates!
Wow… so this is one of the negative effects of Maxpass in my opinion. In order to capitalize on the profitability of Maxpass, Disney is now adding attractions to the lineup that do not need it whatsoever.
For those of you that are Disneyland Resort regulars, you know that Autopia and Monsters Inc. rarely ever have a line long enough to warrant a Fastpass. In fact the addition of Fastpass to these two attractions will increase their lines significantly. Disney has not announced when these rides will be added to the lineup, just saying they will be coming soon.
What do you think of these new additions to the Fastpass lineup? As you can tell I am not in favor of them at all, but let me know your thoughts down below and follow this blog for constant theme park updates!
Walt Disney Imagineers last night installed the marquee sign for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. The ride is set to open March 4th, which is less than a month from now so things are really getting into high gear in terms of finishing touches during this home stretch. To check out a scene by scene layout of the attraction click right here!
This attraction replaced The Great Movie Ride and will be the first ever attraction based on Mickey and Minnie in any Disney park! Are you excited to ride this ride next month? Will you be riding it? What do you think of the final look of the marquee? Let me know in the comments below and follow this blog for constant Disney updates!
We finally have an idea of what is going into the former ESPN Zone space at Downtown Disney. According to reliable insiders on the WDW Magic forums, Disney is making the ESPN Zone space into a Disney Performing Arts Studio.
In order to construct Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Toontown, Disney had to demolish the Entertainment building. Now it seems they will be relocating some of its services such as the rehearsal hall and other facilities for the Disney Performing Arts groups into this building.
What do you think of this development? Would you rather it be a retail space or restaurant everyone would be able to use? Let me know in the comments below and follow this page for more theme park updates!
